Collection
and delivery
Airport collection is usually from the appropriate fleet
operator’s facility. Otherwise the driver will be met
at the airport with the vehicle, or courtesy transport
will be provided.
Local
Charges and Deposits
A credit card authorisation is required at the commencement
of the rental period as a refundable deposit and to
cover extra items.
The
Rental Agreement
All drivers will be recorded on the rental agreement,
which will be completed at the rental pick up location.
Special
Requests
Extras such as child seats, roof racks and snow chains are
available at certain locations, and are charged locally.
Airport
Fees
These are generally included in the prepayment, however in
certain circumstances this must be paid locally.
Local
Taxes
Local taxes such as VAT are included in the prepayment unless
stated otherwise.
Collision
Damage Waiver (CDW):
Protects the driver from any financial loss as a result of
damage caused to the vehicle except for the deductible amount.
Third Party
Liability (TP):
Protects the driver against claims by a third party for injury
or damage.
Extended
Liability Protection (SLI/ELI – USA and Canada):
Increases third party liability cover from the local statutory
minimum to a maximum of $1,000,000.
Theft
Waiver (TW):
Insurance against auto theft is included in the prepayment
unless specified otherwise.
Personal
Accident Insurance (PAI):
Available from the fleet operator and is not generally included.
Excess
Unless specified otherwise the client will be responsible
for the insurance excess in the case of damage to and or loss
of the vehicle.
InterCar
Auto Rental Rates
Unless stated otherwise, rental rates include unlimited mileage,
TP insurance, CDW insurance, Theft Waiver and local taxes.
Cancellation
or Amendments
There is a charge for amendments or cancellations prior to
the collection date, unless cancellation protection has been
purchased.
Mechanical
Failure or Accidents
In the event of a mechanical failure or an accident, the rental
location listed on the voucher should be contacted immediately
for a replacement vehicle or authorisation for repairs.
Driving
Areas
In certain locations it is not possible to take the vehicle
out of the country. Authorisation to cross international borders
must be obtained at the time of hire.
Customer
Service
If the vehicle supplied is unsatisfactory, the Intercar Auto
Rental Ltd representative or the fleet operator should be
contacted immediately for a replacement at the time of collection
